Alberto A. Barraza is an admitted law student at the Chicago-Kent College of Law. He plans to focus his legal education towards a career in litigation. Mr. Barraza chose Chicago-Kent College of Law due to its flexible evening program and the rigorous courtroom skills training through Chicago-Kent’s Trial Advocacy program, which is ranked as one of the best in the country. He currently works as an office assistant for Howard & Howard Attorneys; a business law firm located in downtown Chicago. To gain key insight experience with the legal system beyond the classroom, he plans to continue working full-time with the firm, while attending law school in the evening.
Mr. Barraza earned his B.A., cum laude, from the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) in 2016 with a degree in Political Science and minor in Criminology, Law, and Justice. While attending UIC, he worked full-time as an office assistant for a home inspection company and interned for a real estate law firm. As an additional challenge, he competed in UIC’s Mock trial team in 2015, which provided hands on training in trial practice and procedures. Prior to attending UIC, Mr. Barraza earned his Associate’s degree with High Honors from Wilbur Wright Community College in 2014, where he focused his studies in Criminology, Law, and Justice.
